Democrats Wouldn’t Let Wuhan Virus Crisis Go to Waste

“You never let a serious crisis go to waste,” said Democrat Rahm Emmanuel on November 19, 2008. The former Obama advisor and Chicago mayor was addressing the 2008 financial crisis, but it isn’t hard to imagine what Democrats would try to accomplish under cover of the Chinese coronavirus that currently plagues us.
In fact, Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tried to use the recent stimulus package to increase the minimum wage, advance the Green New Deal, forgive the debt of the U.S. Postal Service, and make it easier for workers to unionize. While these are policies long advocated by America’s Leftists, none of them relate to the current health crisis.
It must grieve the Democrats to see an opportunity to decree which stores must close, which businesses are essential, and which individuals must be imprisoned in their homes, only to remember that it is Donald Trump, not Hillary Clinton or the current Socialist Flavor of the Month, making these decisions. Being able to close churches and open abortion clinics with the stroke of a pen is a Democrat fantasy on par with eliminating the Electoral College and any remaining restrictions on federal power imposed by the Constitution.
Despite President Trump’s flaws, I’m grateful, not for the first time, that he is in charge.
